As associate executive vice chancellor for strategy and chief of staff, Catherine “Katie” Mick serves as an advisor to ForHealth Consulting’s chief executive, providing guidance on organizational initiatives and activities that advance ForHealth Consulting’s mission, strengthen client relationships, and create an environment where employees can thrive.
Prior to joining ForHealth Consulting, Katie was undersecretary for human services at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services, effectively driving strategic policy initiatives across multiple agencies by promoting transparency and collaboration, particularly during the COVID-19 crisis and its impact on the Commonwealth’s most vulnerable residents and essential, frontline workers.
Previously, Katie was chief operating officer at Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children, a pediatric chronic-care hospital operated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Additionally, she worked for many years as an independent consultant, partnering with health and human services organizations to develop innovative, actionable strategies to implement significant policy initiatives.
Throughout her career, Katie has been stalwart in supporting individuals with disabilities, children, youth, and families, survivors of human trafficking, sexual assault, and domestic violence—and cross-sector initiatives involving early education, public safety, and sustained economic stability, which amplify the consumer’s voice.
Katie developed and taught master’s level courses as a faculty member of the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work and is a Lean Six Sigma certified green belt. She earned master’s degrees in business administration and social work from Boston College and a bachelor’s degree in art history from the College of the Holy Cross.
