koustov

Tatyana Koustov, MD

Post Graduate Year 1

Medical School

Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, North Haven, CT

Biography

Hometown: Beverly, MA

Undergraduate Institution: George Washington University, Washington D.C.

Future Plans: My main interests within surgery are colorectal and surgical oncology. Outside of medicine, I love spending time with my family, including our goldendoodle and labradoodle, watching all Boston sports, crafting, reading, and fitting in a Peloton ride with Cody Rigsby when I can.

Why UMASS?: I was drawn to UMass because of its strong clinical training, supportive culture, and broad exposure to diverse pathology and patient populations. I am also happy to be closer to home and family, having grown up in both Beverly and Boston, MA. UMass felt like the kind of place where I would be challenged, well-supported, and able to grow into a skilled and compassionate surgeon.

Favorite thing to do in Worcester: I haven’t spent much time in Worcester, but I’m excited to check out the restaurant scene, coffee shops, catch some games at Polar Park, and get to know the area better during residency!
