    Professor and Interim Chair, Director of Retina & Macular Degeneration Center of Excellence, Residency Program Director

    Dr. Seddon pioneered the field of epidemiology in ophthalmology and initiated studies of genetics in macular degeneration. She previously founded and directed Ophthalmic Epidemiology and Genetics Services at Harvard and Tufts in Boston. Read more ›

    Gabriel Luna , MD

    Assistant Professor & Director of Anterior Segment/Glaucoma

    Dr. Luna received his undergraduate/graduate degree from Universidad Popular Autonoma del Estado de Puebla and went onto Bascom Palmer Eye Institute to receive a Post Doctoral Research Fellowship before he completed his Ophthalmology residency at Boston University Medical Center.     Dr. Janardhana was part of the early medical acceptance program, ENGMEDIC, at Boston University. She graduated summa cum laude, 3rd rank, from the College of Engineering, majoring in Biomedical Engineering and completed medical school and residency at Boston University/Boston Medical Center.     Lauren Branchini , MD

    Assistant Professor

    Dr. Branchini is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with expertise in ophthalmic imaging and clinical interest in the medical treatment of retinal diseases. Whilst completing her medical education at Boston University School of Medicine, she completed a clinical research fellowship in Optical Coherence Tomography at the Tufts/New England Eye Center and the Research Laboratory for Electronics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Read more ›

    Dr. Loshe completed her undergraduate degree in Life Sciences and Italian Literature (BSc) at the University of Toronto where she graduated with Distinction.   • Isha Ingle

    Isha Ingle , MD

    Assistant Professor

    Dr. Ingle completed her ophthalmology residency and a glaucoma fellowship at Aravind Eye Hospital in India. She then worked as an assistant professor and glaucoma consultant at National Institute of Medical Sciences, Jaipur India. She completed a fellowship at Park Avenue LASEK in Manhattan and then a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship from University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. To further enhance her skills, she had another glaucoma fellowship at Henry Ford Health in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Ingle’s areas of interest are medical and surgical management of glaucoma, quality of life studies and clinical research in glaucoma. Read more ›

    Dr. Ayash received a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. He has a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Balamand School of Medicine. He completed his surgical internship and ophthalmology residency at Saint George Hospital University Medical Center. In the United States he completed an ophthalmic genetics fellowship at Harvard Medical School and two cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery fellowships at Park Avenue Laser Vision and Callahan Eye Hospital at University of Alabama, Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine. Dr. Ayash specializes in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgeries. Read more ›

  • Oded Ohana

    Oded Ohana , MD

    Assistant Professor

    Dr. Ohana earned his doctor of medicine  degree in Israel, and graduated with honors from the ophthalmology program at the Tel Aviv Medical Center, Israel. He then completed a fellowship to focus on oculoplastics in England. Subsequently, he completed a two-year full-time fellowship program in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (International ASOPRS) at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute - University of Miami Health System.  He then led the oculoplastics service at Meir Medical Center in Israel. At UMass Memorial Eye Center, Dr. Ohana will build an oculoplastics service, treating orbital, lacrimal, and eyelid conditions. Read more ›

    Dr. Ding graduated Summa Cum Laude from The New England College of Optometry in 2017. She achieved the highest score in National Optometry Board Exam among over one thousand candidates in 2016. Prior to a clinical career, Ding received her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Ohio University. Read more ›

    Dr. Ana Bonaldi graduated cum laude from Montclair State University with a BA in Biology and obtained her OD graduating as salutatorian and Summa Cum Laude from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She completed internships at the prestigious Boston Sight, various health centers in New England, and at the Worcester Department of Veterans Affairs. Read more ›

    Dr. Toral Patel, OD, recently joined the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences in December of 2022.  Dr. Patel was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. Her love for medicine and eye care started as a young child, as both her parents were in the Optical industry.
