Letter from the Chair
Date Posted: Wednesday, April 01, 2015I’m delighted to welcome the former Anatomy Department to Radiology, as the new Division of Translational Anatomy. Due to some changes in the Medical School organizational structure, the Anatomy faculty and staff as well as the staff of anatomic gifts program have joined the Radiology Department. This change should lead to great opportunities for both the “Radiology” and “Anatomy” groups; by increasing the exposure of our Radiology faculty in the first and second year Medical School curriculum, and by incorporating more 3D and cross sectional imaging into the traditional Anatomy curriculum.
We have had a great start to providing imaging services at Marlborough Hospital, Clinton Hospital and Southborough Medical group. All of the transition team’s work during the winter has paid off with an almost seamless first month in the community, as well as smooth transitions for Drs. Brochu and Garrell as new members of our Musculoskeletal and Emergency Radiology Divisions.
With spring comes the appointment of our new chief Residents, Dr. Heeseop Shin and Dr. Monique Tyminski, whom I’m sure will continue the tradition of excellence established most recently by Lacey and Glenn.
On a somber note, we were greatly saddened to learn of the loss of Janice DeSantis this month, after a long battle with leukemia. Please join me in expressing our sympathies to Janice’s family.
Best,
Max
