Lauren Ferrara - Junior Faculty Development Experience

I was selected to participate in the Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP) from 2022-2023. The JFDP was an incredible opportunity to collaborate with leaders from other departments throughout the UMass community. The program introduced me to a phenomenal mentor, Dr. Aaron Scott, Program Director of the Anesthesiology Residency. With his guidance, I was able to create and implement a resident learning curriculum that improved not only resident education but also patient care.  My project entitled, “Helping Interventional Radiology Residents See the Light: Expanding the Focus of Interventional Radiology Resident Training from the Imaging Procedure to Complete Patient Care” continues to be part of everyday workflow in the Division of Interventional Radiology.
