Glenn Stambo MD, a UMass Radiology Alumni, was recently inducted as Fellow in the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) during its Annual Scientific Meeting, June 11–16 in Boston. This honor, achieved by only 15 percent of eligible SIR members, is bestowed to those who have demonstrated excellence in interventional radiology by virtue of research and published works, teaching, and leadership within the field, along with contributions and involvement within the society.
Dr. Stambo stated "I was an IR fellow from 1997-1998, twenty five years later, I have been elected to the Fellowship status in the SIR. This is the highest honor for an IR doctor in our career. It took a longtime but it was well worth it."
