Victoria Podsiadlo Awarded RSNA Trainee Research Prize
Victoria Podsiadlo (UMMS 4) was chosen by the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Scientific Program Committee to receive the RSNA Trainee Research Prize for the research project she submitted: "Breaking the Stereotype: Interventions Aimed at Changing Medical Student Misperceptions of Radiology and Increasing the Female Match Rate" in the Health Service, Policy and Research category. Victoria was presented with a check for $1000 and a certificate during her presentation at the RSNA Annual Meeting in Chicago early in December. The RSNA is the largest radiology meeting in world, attracting approximately 35,000 people. The work Victoria did was mentored by Dr. Carolynn DeBenedectis, the Radiology Residency Director.
Victoria also designed a FCE called “Introduction to Radiology Management” in which she spent a week this past spring going with Department Chair, Dr. Max Rosen to all his meetings, working with the Radiology administrative team, learning about performance, outcomes, quality and other metrics. She also just completed a month of the new “Hands-On” 4th year Radiology elective, designed by Dr. Chris Cerniglia - the director of the UME Radiology programs.
Congratulations Vickie!
