Jenna Gerrish - New Research Academic Administrator

Jenna Gerrish recently joined the department as the new Research Academic Administrator. Jenna is responsible for the financial, operational and general business functions on the Medical School side of Radiology. What she enjoys most about her job is grant management. She is involved with all of the grant submissions and manages revenue/expenditures on all funded projects. Jenna meets weekly with Department Chair, Max Rosen and Senior Academic Administrator, Randa Mowlood to forecast accounts and plan accordingly. She also handles the time and effort reporting for the Researchers. Jenna says “My door is always open, please stop by!”

Jenna graduated from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst and has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Then joined UMMS Diabetes Department in 2010. She was interested in this department because her brother is a Type 1 Diabetic and was diagnosed at 11 months of age.  She says “We are very close and Diabetes affected my whole family.  I joined the Diabetes administrative staff to find out more about current research and technologies to improve the lives of Diabetics.”

Jenna started working in the medical field when she as 15 as a volunteer at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Her mother was an x-ray technologist and educator for 35+ years. Jenna enjoys the hospital setting but chose to pursue a business degree. Her favorite subjects were chemistry and calculus.

When she’s not at UMass, Jenna loves crafts and outdoor adventures. Any activities that make her kids smile. Jenna and her fiancé have been together for 10 years. They have two children (ages 4 and 2) and a new puppy! They recently bought a home in Barre, MA.
