Grant to Bring Tay-Sachs Gene Therapy to Clinical Trial

Heather Gray-Edwards, PhD, DVM, Assistant Professor of Radiology, is part of a team for advancement of Phase I/II clinical trial of the genetic disorder Tay-Sachs. UMMS has received a $1.4 million donation from the Blu Genes Foundation, a Toronto-based foundation. The team which also includes Miguel Sena-Esteves, PhD and Dean Terence R. Flotte, MD, will move research from the preclinical phase to early stage human trials. Read more about the project and grant in UMass Chan News.
