Letter from the Chair

Dear All,

Welcome to our new newsletter format – and many thanks to Charlene for working to make the newsletter more readable.

This month we feature a collaborative effort between the hospital, Radiology Department and Fairlawn Rehab which will allow patients recovering at Fairlawn to obtain urgent head CTs, without having to spend time (and resources) in the ED. This is a great example of how Radiology can help improve patient care, patient experience and lower the cost of health care using a “team” approach.

We also feature a wide-range of praise and accomplishments of our faculty, staff and residents, community service / wellness efforts and welcome Dr. Manas Das to our Anatomy faculty and say thanks to Dr. Wakhloo for his many years of service to UMass as he transitions to the next phase of his career at the Lahey clinic.

In spite of the snow today – enjoy the early spring.
