Patient-Practitioner Panel

Lacey McIntosh, DO, from the Division of Abdominal Imaging, was invited by Laura Lambert - Director Periotoneal Carcinomatosis Program, to sit on a panel for the UMass Memorial 7th Annual PMP/Appendix Cancer Patient-Practitioner Symposium on October 11, 2017. The symposium provides updates, information, education and support for people dealing with or touched by appendiceal cancer.

The symposium took place on Wednesday,  October 11, in the Blais Pavilion in the UMMS Lazare Research Building. The Keynote speaker was Dr. Kiran Turaga from the University of Chicago. A presentation was also made by a patient and family member about their experience with appendiceal cancer. Dr. McIntosh reports that it was an "excellent" event.

Stay tuned - Dr. McIntosh is working on a project to create a "Comprehensive Cancer Care Conference" which will be an inter-departmental project. The first Conference is tentatively set for November 16. More details will be posted when finalized.
