Dear All,
We are right in the middle of summer - starting our final push for EPIC and AGFA go-live and our integration of Health Alliance on 10/1/17. In July, we welcomed 10 of our new 13 faculty who will be joining us this summer along with our new residents and fellows and said farewell to Drs. Karam and Takhtani. In June, we celebrated with the annual Ed Smith lecture given by Dr. Ruth Carlos from the University of Michigan and our resident/fellow graduation at Tower Hill where we presented the first annual “Dr. Balikian – Go the Extra Mile Award” and recognized Dr. Charu Desai as our Radiology Teacher of the Year. This month’s newsletter also features accomplishments/special contributions of several faculty and staff, including letters from grateful patients and an update from Iraq from Dr. Sarwat Husain as he readies the Radiology Department at Imam Al Hujja Charity Hospital. New this summer has been our departmental participation in UMass’ 2017 summer High School Health Careers Program.
