Letter from the Chair
Date Posted: Monday, October 31, 2016Dear All,
This month we welcome several of our new faculty who have joined our department over the summer: Dr. Abayazeed, Choi, Goldstein, Masciocchi and Mcintosh. All (with the exception of Dr. Goldstein – who we recruited from Yale and MGH) have spent part of their training at UMass. It’s extremely satisfying when former residents and fellows return to re-join the department as faculty. Over the next few months we will be welcoming more new faculty as we continue to grow.
With so many unique projects being done in the department, we will be revising the “Special Projects” section of the web site each month in order to have a featured “project of the month” – this month check out Dr. Puri’s Stroke Treatment videos – showcasing our state-of-the-art neuro interventional service.
We also have a spotlight feature on our new sonographer, Nagham Rida, RDMS, and our monthly IT updates for EPIC, Agfa, and Powerscribe 360, as well as pictures from our annual ice cream social and this year’s “Clinical Research Night for Residents”.
Mark your calendars for our post-Halloween Seminar – “Mummies in Clinical Research : A new role for the ancient dead” on November 9 from 5:30 -7:30 pm on Lazare Auditorium (S1-607). The event will be followed by pizza and an opportunity to talk with UMass Chan Students about Radiology. (So far approximately 40 students have RSVPed).
Best,
Max
