LISTEN: Programs, services support health and wellness for UMass Chan community

The past few years have been incredibly challenging for millions of Americans as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, UMass Chan Medical School has reinforced its commitment to the health and wellness of all members of the Medical School community, including faculty, staff and students, as discussed in a new Voices of UMass Chan podcast.

In a new episode, Valerie Wedge, LICSW, CEAP, director of the Office of Well-Being, discusses how the Office of Well-Being and the Employee Assistance Program are helping promote a culture of wellness for members of the UMass Chan community through numerous offerings, including free lifestyle coaching, free mental health counseling and online fitness programs.

“We provide faculty, students, staff and family members with the opportunity to get some help with personal or work-related stressors,” says Wedge, such as “conflict management or trouble getting along with a spouse.”

Access to Office of Well-Being resources can be found on the UMass Chan intranet.
