Maureen Canellas, MD, MBA, Program Director
Dr. Canellas is an emergency medicine physician and assistant professor of emergency medicine at UMass Chan Medical School. She completed the UMass Chan Emergency Medicine Administration Fellowship and earned her MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Dr. Canellas is a board member and chair of education for the largest emergency medicine database company in the United States and serves as a principal investigator on projects focusing on economics and machine learning.
Richard Forster, MD, Program Advisor
Dr. Forster is a hospital medicine physician and associate professor of medicine at UMass Chan Medical School. Dr. Forster is a recipient of numerous teaching and process improvement awards, including the department’s prestigious “Best Teacher” award. Dr. Forster’s interests include Graduate Medical Education, Clinical Reasoning Strategies, Career Mentorship, LEAN Management Systems, Patient Flow, and Process Improvement. He has served in multiple leadership roles including chief of hospital medicine and executive vice chair in the Department of Medicine.
