In Memoriam
In August 2021, Robert W. Finberg, MD, passed away unexpectedly. Dr. Finberg’s accomplished career as a physician, infectious disease researcher, and teacher spanned four decades. He was a long-time faculty member in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunology and the Program in Innate Immunity, and was Chair of the Department of Medicine for 21 years. Working with his family and the UMass Chan advancement office, an endowment fund in his honor has been established to support research training and visiting lectureships in Infectious Diseases.
