I am so glad I did my Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at UMass Chan Medical School. During the year, I learned so much about the unique type of medicine that is practiced in long-term care settings and in a geriatric medicine clinic. Taking care of older patients alongside the faculty, discussing patient cases, and understanding their decision-making process was a valuable part of the program. I was also involved in numerous teaching opportunities and QI projects, which helped me grow professionally and academically. I am proud to now be a graduate of the UMass Division of Geriatric Medicine!

My fellowship year at UMass Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program was exceptional. I received a comprehensive educational experience through the community's diverse patient population, protected didactic time, quality improvement project opportunities, teaching opportunities, and leadership training.  The atmosphere is collegial, and the mentors are passionate, knowledgeable and very involved in my growth as a geriatrician.  Indeed, I am grateful for my time with the program.

Completing my Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at UMass Chan Medical School was one of the best decisions I could have made for my career. I was able to learn about the breadth of the practice of geriatric medicine and explore various career opportunities. I learned so much about how to care for older adults with a focus on function and helping them to meet their goals for their health. Everyone I worked with enjoys what they do, and it was a pleasure to learn from them. I loved the program so much that I stayed on as faculty here!
