Welcome to the Division of General Internal Medicine. I am proud to lead our division comprising world-class primary care physicians and physician-educators. Our providers are committed to delivering exceptional patient care, developing innovative curricula for medical students and residents, and teaching the next generation of physicians. 

Our primary care providers consistently “put the patient at the center of all we do” and have developed unique models of care, embedding programs such as behavioral health, outpatient-based addiction management, veteran’s health, and our new Virtual Primary Care Bridge Clinic into our primary care practices.

Our faculty also hold important leadership and teaching roles in UMass Chan Medical School’s undergraduate and graduate medical education programs. Physician-educators in the division have played a vital role in developing, and serving as instructors in, the T.H. Chan School of Medicine’s new Vista curriculum. Our division is also the clinical training home for residents on the Internal Medicine Primary Care Residency Track. Here, our faculty train the next generation of internists in longitudinal care and population health management.  

Research is a growing area of interest for physicians in our division. Current areas of interest include chronic disease management, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. Our physician-scientists also have additional opportunities to explore their research interests through our partnership with the Division of Health Systems Science.
