Chief's Welcome

Welcome to the Division of Gastroenterology. I am proud to be part of a talented division comprised of a dedicated clinical staff that is a caring team of specialized doctors, nurses, technicians, and other ancillary personnel who are committed to improving the health and well-being of patients with a variety of gastrointestinal and liver disorders. As a tertiary referral center, we offer expertise in all areas of clinical GI, hepatology, and adult nutrition. In addition to addressing specific medical needs, we promote health through preventive care, cancer screening, and by providing education, allowing the patient to better understand their disease process.

Our division also boasts several active basic research and translational research programs, facilitating the bench to bedside transfer of medical knowledge. We have been actively expanding our division with new clinical and research faculty. In addition, we are increasing our clinical services and are continuing to participate in cutting-edge procedural and clinical trials. The UMass Memorial Medical Center program is one of the fastest-growing academic medical centers in the country.
