Communities of Practice (CoP)
CeKTER aims to support NIDILRR disability employment grantees in sharing their work to enhance services, approaches, practices, and policies benefiting people with disabilities. One method we employ is by facilitating Communities of Practice (CoPs), uniting NIDILRR grantees in disability research who share common concerns, problems, or a strong interest in a specific topic. Through continuous interaction and learning, participants deepen their knowledge and expertise in their chosen areas of focus and further the goal of making a positive impact for people with disabilities. Effectiveness in Training Community of Practice (CoP)
Topic: How to translate evidence-based research into practice through effective training.
Who: This CoP is for NIDILRR employment research grantees and others interested in the topic.
When: We will meet via Zoom on May 8th, 2024 at 12 PM ET and then the 2nd Wed. of every month at that time.
Topics for learning and discussion may include:
- How can we promote the adoption and use of effective strategies in practice, and through training initiatives?
- What are the best strategies for implementing new interventions in real-world settings, including effective training approaches?
- What are the most effective training formats for producing changes in practice?
- How can effective training practices speed the adoption and use of research evidence in practice?
Debbie Nicolellis, Training Director at the UMass Chan Medical School's Transitions to Adulthood Center for Research will lead this training.

Community of Practice (CoP), "S.M.A.R.T. Social Media for Employment Research Dissemination", offers best practices for improving our dissemination, developing collaborative efforts, and deepening our community of practitioners through social media.

Knowledge to Action Cycle to My Work Community of Practice (CoP)
This CoP is a follow-up to the KT Academy’s courses on the Knowledge to Action Cycle, developed by Ian Graham. We will be exchanging experiences of implementation, focusing on specific topics that the community wants to delve deeper into, and sharing helpful resources to improve our ability to encourage the implementation of specific findings to happen.
