Full Time Research Opportunities

UMass Mind is looking to hire highly motivated and ambitious individuals to run and manage the day-to-day operations of short term and multi-year research projects. The goal of our program is to develop innovative intervention strategies combining pharmacological and psychosocial approaches to treat clinical symptoms, medical co-morbidity and co-occurring substance use, and ultimately to improve the quality of life in patients with serious mental illness.

 Student Volunteer Research Opportunities

UMass MIND accepts highly motivated students and trainees at all levels who are interested in gaining clinical and research experience in patients with mental illness. We have multiple ongoing pharmacological or psychosocial clinical trials at any given time. The goal of our research studies is to develop innovative intervention strategies to treat schizophrenia symptoms, comorbid cardiometabolic problems and co-occurring substance use, and ultimately to improve the quality of life in this patient population. There are several opportunities for students to volunteer and learn at our program over the summer or on a part-time basis during the school year. Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks including data management, analysis and presentation, and literature review. In addition, interested students can also help with ongoing clinical trials.

Eligibility:

  • Highly disciplined, motivated students.
  • Students interested to pursue a medical degree or health related graduate degree are preferred.

Commitment: We expect a one-year ongoing commitment of a minimum 10hrs/week during the school year. Students available during the summer for longer hours' commitment are encouraged to apply.
