Elective Description: Intensive experience in the diagnosis and management of psychiatric disorders in medical/surgical settings and the Emergency Department, emphasizing interviewing skills, differential diagnosis, and a variety of treatment approaches. Students will perform evaluations, formulate diagnoses and treatment plans, provide direct patient care, consult to the patients' primary caregivers and participate in daily teaching rounds and regular case conferences. Students will learn about the role of the consultant. |
