Elective Description: This is a very independent elective where you must attend a training program and select a project to author. This project should be one you have developed with a faculty member. Options include: writing a Case Report for Publication, completing work on a research publication you are already involved with, or writing an Evidence Based Review for some publication (ie. The AAFP’s “Cochrane for Clinician” series). Your ideas and suggestions are also very welcome. Unacceptable options include writing an opinion or reflection article. These publications must occur in collaboration with a faculty member who will "co-author" with you. Location for this elective is selected once you have chosen a topic and month. Should you wish to complete two months of this elective, a written description of the project must be submitted in advance, with support of your co-author, before being granted. Objectives By the end of this elective, the student will: A. Develop a plan to complete a research publication along with a faculty advisor B. Have this paper completed with references, providing use of best evidence C. Submit this for publication D. Provide proof of submission to elective leader before April of their graduating year Any questions, please email: Frank.Domino@umassmemorial.org |
