Shaobing Su, PhD, Receives ISSBD Early Career Scholars Travel Award
Date Posted: Tuesday, April 16, 2024iSPARC researcher Shaobing Su, PhD, receives the ISSBD Early Career Scholars Travel award to attend the International Society for the Study of Behavioural Development (ISSBD) 2024 Meeting in Lisbon, Portugal from June 16-20, 2024.
Travel grants and Pre-Conference Workshops are available only to those Early Career Scholars who received a graduate research degree (e.g., Ph.D.) within the past seven years or who are in a graduate program leading to such a degree. Following a competition and review of the academic merits of over 250 applicants from across the globe, Dr. Su is one of the 75 early career scholars selected to attend the prestigious pre-conference workshops and to receive funding. Dr. Su has now been awarded this funding for the third time in the past eight years (previously awarded in 2016, and 2020).
Dr. Su will present her study, “I am a Stranger in My Family:” A qualitative study of family experiences among separated-reunited Chinese immigrant families during separation and reunification, based on the qualitative data from her NIHK99 research with low-income Chinese immigrant families with a history of early and prolong parent-child separation.
