Message from the Dean
Welcome to the T.H. Chan School of Medicine Office of Admissions
I am pleased that you have taken time to learn about UMass Chan Medical School's T.H. Chan School of Medicine. As the Associate Dean for Admissions, I welcome and thank you for visiting our website. Please explore our admissions process, MD and MD/PhD degree program, Population-based Urban and Rural Community Health (PURCH) track, and class profiles. Regardless of your current level of engagement in the medical school admissions process, I hope you find our website informative.
We follow AAMC’s guidance in admission-related issues (e.g. MCAT, online and pass/fail courses) and timing of deadlines. Please keep abreast with the AAMC website and our academic requirements webpage. We will continue to follow holistic and applicant-centered processes in admission.
I would like to highlight that UMass Chan began accepting applicants who are not Massachusetts residents in 2015. In 2017, the population-based urban and rural health (PURCH) track welcomed its first cohort of students. I am also excited to announce that we are accepting Canadian applicants as of the 2021-2022 cycle.
As you navigate the school’s website, I hope you will get a sense of the strong, caring, engaged, passionate, and inclusive community that characterizes our school. I look forward for you to join this community as we continue to build together.
Please contact the Office of Admissions at admissions@umassmed.edu, if we can be of assistance to you.
Best wishes,
Tracy
