Placing an Order
STEP 1: Locate clone information
Lentiviral clones
Go to the Dharmacon website (http://dharmacon.gelifesciences.com/rnai-and-custom-rna-synthesis/shrna/) and use the search option at the top of the page to search for your gene of interest. In the search results, click on the “shRNA” link. Then choose the type of shRNA required (i.e., TRC or pGIPZ lentiviral, human or mouse), which will give you a list of available clones. Request the desired clone(s) by entering the Clone ID in the RNAi Core ordering form.
STEP 2: Complete the online order form
UMass Chan Worcester campus:
Use the online Order Form available through the intranet, accessed via the Order Form link on the left. The data entered on the order form will be automatically sent to shrnaclone@umassmed.edu for ordering purposes. Orders will be delivered in person.
All other UMass campuses:
Please download the Intercampus Order Form, fill it out and send it via email to shrnaclone@umassmed.edu. Orders will be shipped by FedEx.
THE ACCURACY OF THE DATA ON THESE FORMS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. If you need to cancel an order, please REPLY TO ALL from the confirmation email and indicate the problem, and NOTIFY US BEFORE 4:30 p.m. on the same day.
Order Delivery
The following timelines pertain to deliveries on UMass Chan Worcester campus orders. For all other UMass campuses, the orders will be shipped on the delivery date stated below.
TRC library:
- Orders for individual clones placed before 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday will be delivered the following business day if ordered as an 8% glycerol stock. Please allow one extra business day for plasmid prep and 3-4 extra days for viral supernatant.
- Orders for pools placed before 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday will be delivered the following business day.
pSM2 (human) and pGIPZ libraries:
- Orders for individual clones placed before 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday will be delivered the following business day if ordered as an 8% glycerol stock or plasmid prep. Please allow 3-4 extra days for viral supernatant.
- Orders for pools placed before 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday will be delivered the following business day.
pSM2 (mouse) library:
This library is housed off-campus and therefore clones will be retrieved once a week, which will limit deliveries as follows:
- Orders for individual clones or pools placed Monday through Wednesday will be delivered Friday if ordered as an 8% glycerol stock or plasmid prep. Please allow 3-4 extra days for viral supernatant.
- Orders for individual clones or pools placed Thursday through Friday will be delivered the following Friday if ordered as an 8% glycerol stock or plasmid prep. Please allow 3-4 extra days for viral supernatant.
