The Guisbert laboratory is located at the Florida Institute of Technology in the Olin Life Sciences building. We are using the nematode worm, Caenorhabditis elegans and cultured human cells to investigate a cellular signaling pathway called the heat shock response. The heat shock response is an essential stress response that is also involved in human diseases. Our hope is that by learning more about this pathway we will contribute to a better understanding of these diseases and the development of new therapeutic strategies.
