Data Catalog
A data catalog ensures capabilities that enable any users to discover and consume data sources. It enables users to explore their required data sources and understand the data sources explored.
The UMass Chan PLUM Data Environment is a large repository of data from heterogeneous clinical systems. The Data Lake securely integrates clinical, research (genetic, epigenetic, transcriptomic, microbiome), socio-economic, behavioral, and patient-reported data), bio-banking, and molecular data. A collaboration between UMass Chan, CCTS, PQHS and UMass Memorial Health Care (UMMHC) IT enabled creation of the Data Lake.
In 2017, UMMHC implemented a research-favorable Epic electronic health record (EHR) system that provided the opportunity to improve the quality and efficiency of scientific data collection, patient safety, and patient and provider participation in research.
