Thank you for your interest in our studies! Our lab is currently recruiting participants for multiple studies involving eye-tracking. Specifically, we are interested in learning about how experts and non-experts search for abnormalities in medical images, with the hopes that we will be able to use their eye-tracking data to aid them in finding those abnormalities. 

Our current NIH R01 grant investigates Radiologists searching for lung nodules in chest CT scans. We have shown that when radiologists fail to consciously detect lung nodules in chest CTs (which happens in 30-50% of cases), their eyes still go to the location of the nodule and their pupils dilate indicating their brains are detecting the lung nodules even when they have consciously missed them. Further, we can train Machine Learning using this eye-tracking data (and not images of the lung) to accurately locate the “missed” nodules.
