Letting Go
“If you let go a little you will have a little peace; if you let go a lot you will have a lot of peace; if you let go completely you will have complete peace.”
– Ajahn Chah
We invite you to reflect on the experience of letting go...
Notice your presence in this moment – where are you now?
Feel the rhythm of the breath.
Tune in to the body.
Be with the body and the breath with compassion.
Let this experience anchor you to the present.
You may begin to notice places where you are holding tension.
Feelings that are unpleasant may arise that are difficult to sit with.
This is just part of the human condition – bring kindness to this experience.
Let it be.
Give yourself permission to let go of the need to change anything – just observe.
Notice how the experience naturally unfolds,
And continue to bring your awareness back to the breath.
With each exhale, feel the sense of softening – be with these glimpses of ease.
This peace is never far away – it's as close as your next breath.
Letting go is a practice in and of itself – be patient. It’s not any easy task. Each moment that we notice our human condition without judgment, and instead with compassion, we become more and more aware of a deeper sense of the peace that is always with us.
