Adolescent Continuing Care Units at the Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital

Two Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH) adolescent inpatient continuing care units are part of the Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital, 309 Belmont Street, Worcester, Massachusetts.  The two 15 bed therapeutic programs are designed to serve adolescents whose clinical condition requires psychiatric management, medical monitoring and continuing care. 

The Child Division of the (DMH) makes the majority of the referrals to these units along with the Massachusetts courts. Youth most often come to this program from acute psychiatric units and the courts make special referrals for forensic services. 

Utilizing a strong multi-disciplinary team of child psychiatrists (who are Department of psychiatry UMASS Chan Medical School faculty), psychologists, social workers, nurses and occupational therapists, each unit offers a trauma informed treatment environment, as well as a full day accredited school program.
