iSPARC Resources:
The Communications Team develops products to share expert or research-based knowledge with different stakeholder groups for individuals with mental illness of all ages, their carers, providers, and policymakers. Early in the pandemic the Team created COVID-19 resource pages on both the iSPARC (https://www.umassmed.edu/sparc/coronavirus/) and Transitions to Adulthood Center for Research (https://www.umassmed.edu/TransitionsACR/coronavirus/) websites. These resource pages have COVID-specific articles, webinars, and tip sheets, that iSPARC is producing during the pandemic along with a Google doc that hosts outside resources for different audiences, which is updated whenever we come across other helpful COVID-19 resources. Our Social Media Specialist has been posting our COVID-19 content and other’s COVID-19 materials on our social media platforms and by e-blasts. The information provided or shared is specific for those with mental illness and their associated other stakeholders. Resources from other sources are reviewed for their reliability. The materials on the Transitions to Adulthood Center for Research are tailored for young people ages 16-29. One research group focuses on individuals with mental illness who are deaf, and our related products are translated into American Sign Language (ASL). This group also produces a Facebook page, that has posted pandemic-related information 2-3 times per week for this unique population https://www.facebook.com/DeafYESCenter/ The products on these websites are developed in partnership with stakeholder advisory groups; the Family Advisory Board, the Youth Advisory Board, and the DeafYES! Advisory group.
