Digital Acceleration of Smart Healthcare (DASH) Consortium
The Digital Acceleration of Smart Healthcare (DASH) Consortium is a partnership between UMass Chan Program in Digital Medicine, UMass Memorial Medical Center, and the UMass Lowell M2D2 IMPACT Accelerator that offers opportunities for UMass Memorial Medical Center physicians interested in the intersection of academia and industry, digital medicine innovation, and/or sponsored research to partner with the inventors of cutting-edge technology incubated within the UMass innovation ecosystem with intersecting or aligned interests.
Clinicians are strategically paired with a digital medicine venture based on affinity-matching or via direct request to pair with a particular company or inventor. Activities within the DASH Consortium are tailored to faculty member interests and desired level of engagement, and may include but are not limited to:
- serving as a principal or co-investigator for research in areas of interest
- learning about technology innovation and entrepreneurship through real-world participation
- participation in the biodesign process/human-centered design for novel technology
- co-development of intellectual property (e.g. patents, trademarks)
- joining an advisory board or serving as an advisor / subject matter expert
Application to the DASH Consortium is open to all physicians within UMass Memorial Medical Center. Interested faculty can email PDM@umassmed.edu for more information. Apply Here.
Self-guided opportunities for education, research, collaboration, and mentorship for attendings. Coming soon.
Entrepreneurs, start-ups and new ventures
UMass M2D2 Impact Accelerator is a 12-week accelerator program that aims to advance early-stage companies looking to reshape the future of healthcare. Ventures in digital medicine partner with PDM for additional resources, subject matter expertise and guidance on approaching pilots and collection of early clinical data.
UMass Center for Advancing Point of Care Technologies supports development, deployment and testing of promising late-stage, point-of-care technologies that can be rapidly deployed to enhance the diagnosis, monitoring, management and treatment of heart, lung, blood, and sleep disorders. The center has an additional interest in projects that incorporate complementary and integrative health approaches. CAPCaT is supported by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute and the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health. Ventures in digital medicine partner with PDM for additional resources, subject matter expertise and guidance on approaching pilots and collection of early clinical data, as well as access to the National Institutes of Health Point of Care Technology Research Network, Massachusetts Medical Device Development team, and more.
