Welcome to Basic Science
Meet Our Faculty! The basic science program is supported by a very talented and engaged group of faculty, trainees, staff and administrators. Excellence in scientific research that expands knowledge base, grooms the next generation of scientists and can lead to novel therapeutics for patients is our common goal. This endeavor is carried out in an environment that is highly stimulating, collaborative and collegial. We work together to make differences.

These areas include Lymphocyte Development, Lymphocyte Activation, Molecular Recognition, Antigen Presentation, Autoimmunity, Dendritic Cell, Programmed Cell Death, Viral Immunology, Innate Immunity, T-cell Receptor Structure and Function, and Mucosal Immunity.
Interested in our PhD Program? Immunology and microbiology are active interdisciplinary biomedical fields with studies ranging from molecular mechanisms to clinical trials. The IMP faculty is directed by the IMP Committee, an interdepartmental group that includes faculty with diverse research interests, including the molecular and cellular basis of immune responsiveness, and the control of viral, bacterial and parasitic infections.
