This Viewpoint article entitled ‘Beyond implant registries: a new patient-centered research consortium for comparative effectiveness in total joint replacement’ discusses the importance of implementing patient-centered data within total joint replacement registries. It also presents the innovative design and implementation of FORCE-TJR, as a national prospective patient cohort to determine which orthopedic techniques, implants, and patient factors are associated with optimal patient-reported outcomes- both pain improvement and functional gain.
