Hi! My name is Chris and I am one of the residents here at UMass. I originally grew up in Scituate, Massachusetts, and went to Georgetown University in DC for my undergraduate education. I initially became interested in the field of OB/GYN during my senior year of college when I shadowed and did research at a private IVF practice in northern Virginia. I then went to Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska for medical school, but knew I always wanted to come home for residency. For me, UMass was the perfect fit. I wanted an academic program close to home that afforded me the opportunity to become a well-trained generalist or to go on to fellowship. Most importantly, I wanted a program where I felt like I could be my goofy, energetic self and truly enjoy the camaraderie between my fellow co-residents. I can gladly say that UMass has exceeded those expectations. In my free time, I love playing hockey and soccer, reading historical fiction books, doing crosswords, and eating as much pasta and pizza as possible.

Hi! My name is Brittney. I grew up in Concord, NH but somehow found myself in Florida for undergrad. I went to the University of South Florida (Go Bulls!!) and graduated with a degree in biomedical sciences and public health.  I moved back to New England after graduation to get a Masters in Public Health. While I was in school, I worked as a pharmacy technician at Maine Medical Center and as a case manager for Maine Health connecting people with social services and signing them up for Obamacare! I really loved my time in Portland, but USF also stands for U Stay Forever, so I went back to USF for medical school. I had a blast living in St. Petersburg and Tampa, but ultimately missed home and was elated when I matched at UMass. I'm living in Worcester with my girlfriend, Jordan, and our two dogs, Bo and Lily. Bobo is a 6 year old lab/ridgeback mix who is the laziest dog I’ve ever met and Lily is a 1 year old cattle dog mix that never stops going. In all honesty, it is taking every shred of self-control not to just write this bio about my dogs... So I’m going to stop there. I'm passionate about equitable health care, LGBTQ health, and substance use in pregnancy. In my real life outside of medicine, I love snuggling my dogs, drinking craft beer, working out, being outdoors, and cooking with my girlfriend!!

Welcome!! You can call me Maggie. I originally hail from Hamden, Connecticut, where I grew up with my three sisters. I graduated with a degree in Allied Health Sciences from UConn, and somewhere along the way decided medicine was my calling. Before embarking on medical school, I moved up to Boston to do research at Boston Children's Hospital. I worked as a research coordinator, studying health care delivery models for children with medical complexity. After three years of working in research, I moved back to Connecticut for medical school. At UConn School of Medicine, I was involved in the OB/GYN interest group and in Medical Students for Choice, starting the learning about what it means to be an advocate for my patients. I chose UMass because this program truly emphasizes care of the whole patient, in every phase of their life. Family planning is an integral part of our program, not limited to a single rotation, but as a pillar throughout the four years. The program is also a true resource for the community. We care for patients from across the socioeconomic spectrum, with varying ethnicities and cultural backgrounds. We are the referral location for hospitals all over central Mass, northern Connecticut, and southern New Hampshire. These were the key components I was looking for in a residency program. When I am not at work, I try to spend my time outdoors. I am constantly looking for new green spaces to explore. A few of my other favorite things include farmers' markets, chocolate chip cookies, wildflowers, yarn shops, and curating a cache of candid photos of friends doing silly things.

Hello everyone, I’m Zarah! I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I went to the University of California, Berkeley for undergrad and then returned to Las Vegas working as an ER scribe until I joined the UNLV School of Medicine charter class. During medical school, I fostered a passion for inclusive reproductive health care and am excited to continue this work in residency. I was drawn to the OBGYN program at UMass for its quality and extent of family planning training, the diverse patient population, and the culture of collaboration and learning. Outside of the hospital, you can find me out exploring hiking trails, stopping by farm stands, or checking out the local breweries with my amazing co-residents. I feel so lucky to have matched at a program full of hardworking and fun people who bring the same level of enthusiasm and dedication to patient advocacy and quality care as they do to impromptu dance parties and supporting one another.

I'm Isabel! I grew up in San Jose, California in a family with roots in Norway, Uruguay, and the Jewish Midwest. I went to UC Berkeley for undergrad and studied public health before moving out to the East Coast and going to Boston University for med school.  At BU, I found a community among people passionate about health equity, advocacy, and providing exceptional care to underserved communities. I taught medical Spanish and qualified to become an approved bilingual provider. I graduated in 2020 and spent a year as a prelim general surgery intern at Boston Medical Center before matching here at UMass in OB/GYN. I am thrilled to continue my training at UMass where I have found a new home among incredible people dedicated to our diverse patients, committed to providing the highest quality of care, and who are also genuinely fun and delightful people and fantastic teachers. I am passionate about family planning, reproductive justice, and racial justice.  I can be found eating and cooking vegan food, playing Pokémon Go, spending time with my co-residents and friends back in Boston, and dreaming about the life I plan to provide for the two cats I am planning on adopting.
