Cilantro-Onion Sticks
Yields 30 to 35 sticks, depending on length
Ingredients:
- 3 egg whites
- 2 cloves garlic, grated
- 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 cups almond flour
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 F.
- Grease a baking tray with canola oil.
- In a medium-size bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the garlic, onion, salt, pepper, baking powder, fresh cilantro, and almond flour. Slowly fold in the egg whites. The dough should be moist, but not sticky.
- Form ½ inch dough balls and roll them between your palms to make long strands (sticks).
- Gently place the rolled sticks on the baking tray well-spaced apart. Place in the oven, and bake until the sticks turn golden brown, 20 to 30 minutes.
