Date Posted: Thursday, May 02, 2024Mustafa Al Gburi, MD, completes the Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis Fellowship Program at UMass Chan. Born in Baghdad, Iraq, Mustafa completed medical school at the University of Baghdad, College of Medicine, and Residency training at Baghdad Teaching Hospital before completing an internship in internal medicine at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center and a neurology residency at Tufts Medical Center.
Mustafa has research interests in neuroimmunology lab and imaging biomarkers, as well as clinical interests in viral infections of the central nervous system (CNS). Mustafa shares, “The UMass Chan Neuroimmunology program offered me a unique chance to participate in clinical research and clinical trials while having the opportunity to do clinical procedures and neuropsychiatric rotation.”
Mustafa is establishing a neuroimmunology clinic at Tufts Medicine, Lowell General Hospital in the Merrimack River Valley.
