Application Decisions
Application decisions for the MD/PhD Program are made on a rolling basis during the admissions season from September to May. The MD/PhD Admissions Sub-committee makes its recommendation to the UMass Chan Medical School Admissions Committee and all offers are sent out jointly by the Medical School and the Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. The offers are made with a two-week decision deadline for the applicant to declare either their intention to enroll or decline the offer.
We expect that the opportunity to visit the campus, tour the facility, meet faculty, talk with both medical and MD/PhD students, and receive advice from your personal mentors you will be able to make an educated decision on whether UMass Chan Medical School is a good fit with your academic goals and research interests.
Not every MD/PhD program is a perfect fit for each applicant and we expect to have candidates who have other programs ranked higher on their list of schools. We request that when you have made a decision not to attend the MD/PHD program at UMass Chan, please let us know as quickly as possible. This will help facilitate the admissions process for all MD/PhD programs across the country.
