Fina Barouch, MD - Walden House Mentor
Dr. Fina Barouch grew up in Texas, received a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Yale University, and earned her MD magna cum laude from Harvard Medical School. After an Internal Medicine Internship at Massachusetts General Hospital, she completed her Ophthalmology Residency and Vitreoretinal Surgical Fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary in Boston, MA. She also served as Chief Resident in Ophthalmology and Director of the Eye Trauma service at Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary.
Since 2007, Dr. Barouch has been at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in the Division of Ophthalmology. Dr. Barouch is currently an Assistant Professor of Surgery at UMass Chan Medical School and Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM). She serves as a faculty member for the Lahey Vitreoretinal Surgical Fellowship and the TUSM Ophthalmology Residency. Dr. Barouch is the Vice Chair of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging for the Department of Surgery at Lahey. Her clinical interests include all aspects of medical and surgical retina including age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions, retinal detachments, epiretinal membranes, and macular holes.
Dr. Barouch is a self-proclaimed foodie and when not working can often be found in her kitchen cooking, baking, or decorating cakes. She also loves traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
