Maurine Williams, MD - Blackstone House Mentor
Dr. Williams grew up in Louisville Kentucky, and attended the University of Kentucky
where she majored in biology with a minor in classics. She then went on to medical school at her undergraduate’s biggest rival, the University of Louisville, and believes this to mean that she can never lose when they play each other in sports. She moved well above the Mason- Dixon Line when she matched into the Emergency Medicine residency at UMass from which she graduated in 2014.
She has been working in the UMass affiliated community hospitals including
Marlborough, Leominster, and Clinton hospital. She is passionate about teaching and is heavily involved in orienting and training residents, medical students, and new advanced practitioners. It is her belief that medicine, especially Emergency Medicine, is a team sport and that all teammates have much to teach each other to create the best care possible for patients.
When she is not teaching or working, she is at home with her wife and three children.
She enjoys puzzles, Lego video games, attempting home improvement projects, and pretending to know the rules of baseball like a native New Englander.
