Terrell Y. Johnson, MD Blackstone House Mentor

Dr. Johnson was born and raised in the Chicagoland area in a home with his parents and two older sisters.  From there he completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry at Tougaloo College in Mississippi.  From there he matriculated to Boston, where he went to medical school at Boston University Arum and Chobanian School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in 2014.  It is here, during his training where he found his joy for medical education.  Upon completing his training, he joined Boston Medical Center as a clinician educator, and in 2023 transitioned to the University of Massachusetts Medical Center as an Assistant Professor of Medicine.  

His roles include primary care, resident precepting clinics, co-director of Diversity, Inclusion and Social Justice, as well as a learning communities mentor.  Just as he enjoys the long-term relationships that he makes with his patients in primary care, he enjoys the longitudinal relationships that he makes with his students and trainees as well.

 Outside of medicine, his favorite hobbies include spending time with his family and two young daughters.  A sports enthusiast, he enjoys playing golf and following his favorite baseball team the Chicago Cubs.
