Wellness Committee
The Internal Medicine Resident Wellness Committee is run by residents with faculty mentoring provided by Dr. Vandana Nagpal. The committee actively solicits ideas from residents and welcomes all participants. In the last several years, the committee arranged for monthly therapy dog visits, secured an institutional grant for free opt-out wellness visits for interns through Tend Health, arranged monthly “happy hours”, and implemented a peer-buddy mentoring program to connect every incoming intern with a senior resident.
The committee is also working on exciting future projects such as additions to the resident lounge. There are opportunities within the committee to work on scholarly projects and study how these interventions improve resident well-being.
