Name: Benjamin Tanenbaum, MD
Medical School: UMass Chan Medical School

About Me: I’m a Worcester native through and through! I was born at the UMass Memorial Campus and grew up in Worcester, MA. I attended Northeastern University, where I majored in Chemistry with a minor in Biology. Following college, I spent two years working in a proteomics lab in Cambridge. In 2017, I returned to Worcester for medical school, and since then, I've thoroughly enjoyed being back in my hometown. I've been thrilled with the training and camaraderie within our Internal Medicine residency program. It truly feels like a family, and I couldn't envision completing my residency anywhere else. Following my chief resident year, my plan is to pursue a career in Hematology/Oncology, a field that has intrigued me since my college days. Beyond medicine, I have a passion for fitness and organize our residency's running club. I also enjoy hiking, cooking, and exploring local eateries. I am also a diehard Patriots fan and think about Tom Brady at least twice daily.

About Me: I grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana. After completing my undergrad in Biology at UMass Amherst, I pursued my medical degree at the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, then happily joined the Internal Medicine Residency program here at UMass Chan. While at UMass Chan, I have been part of the Medical Education Track, which aligns with my passion for advancing medical education. What drew me to UMass Chan was its welcoming atmosphere, top-notch learning environment, and the diversity of patients we serve. Outside of medicine, I share my life with my husband and our two adorable bunnies, Stella and Luna. In my downtime, I enjoy reading, shopping, and exploring the New England Botanic Garden. After chief year, I hope to start a career as a hospitalist.

Name: Patrick (Pat) Teebagy, DO, MS
Medical School: University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine

About Me: I was born in Worcester at UMass Memorial Hospital and grew up across the lake in Shrewsbury. I stayed close and went to the College of the Holy Cross, earning a degree in History with a Peace & Conflict Studies Concentration. Later, I changed paths and earned a Masters of Physiology from Georgetown. I went to UNECOM for medical school and, while I miss the outdoors of Maine, was thrilled to match at UMass Chan for the IM-Primary Care Track and return to Worcester. The supportive clinical training and friendships I developed affirmed that UMass Chan was the best fit for me. I am a proud resident of Worcester, living with my wife, young son, our dog, and our cat. Outside of the hospital, I can often be found hiking through the forests and hills of Worcester County, playing sports (i.e. golfing or basketball), watching a WooSox or Boston sports team, or checking out a new restaurant or brewery. Sometimes, we line dance. Following my Chief Resident year, I plan to pursue a career in Primary Care Sports Medicine.

Name: Katherine Anais Sadaniantz, MD

About me: I was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. I went to Fordham University in the Bronx, NY, for college, double majoring in Biology and Music. I then went straight through to medical school at UMass in Worcester. I loved UMass from the day I interviewed, as I felt like this was a very collegial environment full of intelligent, caring, and fun-loving people. I have been so lucky to stay at UMass for residency and to have lived in Worcester for seven years (now with my fiancé, two cats, and one hamster). During my chief year, I aim to give back to this program which has already given me so much. When not in the hospital, I can be found exploring the city, playing softball, going to the gym, hiking, or swimming. After my chief resident year, I plan on pursuing a career in cardiology.

Name: Timothy (Tim) Miett, MD
Medical School: University of Connecticut

About me: I grew up in East Haddam, Connecticut, a beautiful rural town on the banks of the Connecticut River. I went to Boston College for undergrad where I studied English. After college, my interests pivoted toward medicine, and I completed my pre-med studies at Columbia University before returning to my home state to attend the University of Connecticut for medical school (go Huskies!). I am extremely grateful to have matched at UMass Chan—a place where I have received excellent training in an unwaveringly supportive environment created and maintained by the administrative staff, the faculty, and my co-residents. After my chief year, I plan on pursuing fellowship training in hematology/oncology. Outside of medicine, I like going on hikes with my wife, playing soccer, disc golf, chess, strumming the guitar, and practicing speaking Spanish.
