Matthew Schwartz, Ph.D. (He/Him/His)

Dr. Matthew Schwartz designs, manages, and facilitates faculty development programs and mentorship activities aimed to foster the productivity, satisfaction, and retention of early-career, tenure-track, research faculty. Dr. Schwartz joined UMass Chan in September 2022 after five years as an Assistant Teaching Professor of Biology at Simmons University. He also brings three years of faculty development experience to this role after having concurrently served as a Faculty Fellow at the Center for Faculty Excellence at Simmons University. Dr. Schwartz has facilitated dozens of faculty development workshops and has presented research and professional development presentations at regional, national, and international conferences. Dr. Schwartz received his B.A. in Biological Sciences from Northwestern University and his Ph.D. in Genetics and Genomics from Harvard University.
