Additional features of the program

• Epic Physician Builder Training during the summer of year 1.  
• All fellows will be enrolled in the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Department of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology to obtain a Graduate Certificate in Health & Clinical Informatics. The tuition will be paid for by the CI Fellowship program. 
• Rotations have been created to give fellows a holistic understanding of clinical informatics in a variety of settings and with exposure to members of multidisciplinary teams.  
• Capstone project: all fellows will start planning their project during the spring of year 1 and will continue it into year 2.   
• Longitudinal experiences will include participation in at least one committee, Epic Partnership Council, or integrated workgroup. Additional activities include grand rounds, the Program in Digital Medicine monthly meetings, and Journal Club (both locally and through the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA).  
• Large and stable Epic Deployment with more than 2.6 million patients in the database. We have twice been awarded Epic Gold Stars Level 10, the highest recognition from the vendor.  
• Independent practice: fellows can practice independently in their specialty up to 20% of the time. They can also moonlight in approved positions to augment their income.
