Flaviane Silva joins the lab as Postdoctoral Researcher

We are excited to welcome our newest lab member, Dr. Flaviane Silva. She did her PhD work in Human Physiology at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, focusing on adipose tissue plasticity and hypercortisolism.  Before that, she trained in Physiological Sciences at the State University of Londrina, Brazil, where she conducted extensive research on cancer-cachexia syndrome. Flaviane received a travel abroad award from the Sao Paulo Research Foundation that allowed her to spend a year of training at Vanderbilt University with Dr. Sheila Collins.  Her Guertin lab research will explore the regulation and function of adipocyte thermogenesis pathways aiming to identify new disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets.
