Guidance and Support for Students

From brainstorming a research/scholarship idea to disseminating the findings, we provide personalized support and encouragement throughout your scholastic journey. Here are examples of support offered:

  • Keeping students informed about available research grants, fellowships, and funding sources
  • Providing one-on-one assistance for writing successful research & quality improvement proposals and manuscripts
  • Managing and distributing internal research funds
  • Assisting with administrative aspects of research including compliance with institutional policies, IRB submissions, and reporting requirements
  • Providing mentorship to students to enhance their research/scholarship skills on topics like data analysis, research methodologies, and effective communication of findings
  • Enhancing visibility and impact of student research and scholarship through institutional websites and social media

Poster Funding Application

The Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing encourages research and scholarly work of all students. We are committed to facilitate the dissemination of such work. Funding for posters sharing student work can be requested for peer reviewed accepted abstracts for poster presentations at professional meetings. The maximum amount of funding available for printing a poster is $150. Students may receive funding for a maximum of one poster/year.

Student Travel Grant

The Office of Student Life is pleased to announce the Student Travel Grant program. The Student Travel Grant program offers travel grants to students actively participating in and presenting at a professional conference. Grants are offered on a first come, first served basis and can be used for any portion of the conference experience, including, but not limited to: conference fees, transportation expenses, lodging, and meals. This office will not accept any applications for retroactive reimbursement from past conferences. To be eligible for the grant you must:

  • Not be on a leave of absence.
  • Be in good academic standing.
  • Be presenting and submit documentation (such as a program) to show their participation in the conference.
