Lisa Cappabianca, DNP student
Lisa Cappabianca, MSN, RN, enrolled in nursing school after her mother died of uterine cancer. The Doctor of Nursing Practice student is focused on hospice and palliative care.
Brandon Gentile, DNP student
Brandon Gentile, RN, has been a nurse for more than a decade. He enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing to Doctor of Nursing Practice Program with plans to open his own practice.
Ian Lane, PhD student
Ian A. Lane, RN, a pediatric intensive care nurse at Connecticut Children’s Hospital and PhD nursing student in the Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing at UMass Chan Medical School, comes from a long line of nurses. He credits his husband, a fellow pediatric nurse, as the person who inspired him to further his nursing education.

Sarang Raj, DNP student
The path Sarang Raj, RN, took to become a nurse began with an adrenaline-filled call for help when, at age 11, he was coached through taking his grandmother’s pulse by an emergency operator. He is earning his Doctor of Nursing Practice in adult gerontology in the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Track, with the goal of becoming a critical care nurse practitioner.

Graduate Entry Pathway
The Graduate Entry Pathway (GEP) program is for individuals with a bachelor's degree in a field other than nursing, leading first to registered nurse (RN) licensure, then to either a Doctor of Nursing Practice or a PhD in Nursing.
Doctor of Nursing Practice
The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program prepares nurse practitioners and advanced nurse practice leaders to transform the field of advanced practice nursing.
Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing
The Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (PhD) program is an in-depth education that prepares you to lead the discipline of nursing in research, scholarship and teaching in academia and beyond.
Master of Science in Nursing and Interprofessional Leadership

Post Master’s Doctor of Nursing Practice
The Post Master’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program expands the expertise of advanced practice nurses and nurse leaders, helping you to deliver transformative health care to patients.
Continuing Education
Continuing Education (CE) courses provide opportunities to take a course to further your professional and academic goals as health care evolves and the nurse's role on the interprofessional patient care team becomes more critical.
Post Graduate Certificates
The post graduate certificates are geared toward providing practicing nurse practitioners additional classroom and clinical experience needed to address patient needs across the lifespan. Certificate options include Adult Gerontology Acute Care, Adult Gerontology Primary Care and Psychiatric Mental Health.
