Information about UMass Chan
Foundations and other private philanthropic funders routinely request information like UMass Chan’s mission and vision, its history, its institute-wide objective, and senior staff leadership (PDF)—which is different from the University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees. Please review applications closely and consult with the Office of Advancement if you are unsure if a specific application is asking for mission, objectives, leadership and other information for the specific project, or the university more broadly.
Foundations often request demographic information on students, faculty and staff in the application process. Please review the Data Diversity Dashboards from the Diversity and Inclusion Office, as well as the Academic Year '24 Annual Report (PDF) from the Office of Faculty Affairs for specific information. Contact the CFR team if you cannot find what you need.
Institutional documents
Many applications require institutional documents. When applying to a foundation that requires that funding be given to an organization that is a tax-exempt 501(c)3, charitable by IRS definitions, use the following information:
